Kayak with Dolphins & More
Paddle through the crystal-clear waters of Double Island Point, where dolphins play and the ocean is full of life. You might spot humpback whales migrating (Jun-Oct), or come across turtles that call this place home.
The waters are also home to manta rays, stingrays, and thousands of soldier crabs scurrying across the sand. With so many birds flying overhead and the peaceful vibe of the Great Sandy National Park, every moment is an adventure.
Double Island Point
Nestled within a remote stretch of protected coastline, this gem offers a one-of-a-kind kayaking experience in an untouched natural setting. Glide across the calm, clear waters of secluded bays, pass vibrant coastal cliffs, and soak in sweeping views across to K’Gari (Fraser Island).
Getting There: This off-the-beaten-track location is only accessible by beach-driving in a 4WD, which we provide as part of the journey.
Wildlife Encounters: Keep your eyes peeled! This area is alive with marine life, from playful dolphins to majestic whales during the migration season.

What type of dolphins are there?
The most frequent dolphins are Bottlenose dolphins. We also sometimes encounter the more rare Australian Humpback dolphin.
How far off the beach are the dolphins?
Being wild, dolphin spotting on any day vary. Sometimes close to shore, other times further out. The protected bay offers good ocean kayak conditions to encounter them. We encourage on open mind on any wildlife encounters as they can vary as it is although frequent not in the guides control.
What do I bring?
Please bring what you would usually bring to the beach e.g: towel, sunscreen, water, camera, change of clothes. Some extra food is recommended.
What time do tours depart?
Departure times are set around low tide allowing the unique access via the beach by 4X4.

Is this tour kid-friendly?
Absolutely! This tour is very kid-friendly and is a fantastic adventure for families. Children often love the wildlife encounters, beach driving experience, and time to enjoy a little play on the beach at Double Island Point.
For children under 7 years of age, we simply ask that you let us know when booking so we can ensure an appropriate car seat is available in our vehicles. It also helps us keep an eye on conditions leading up to your tour. If the ocean or weather conditions are expected to be a little rougher than usual, we may contact you beforehand to discuss the suitability of the tour for the kids and, if needed, arrange an alternative date to ensure everyone has the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.
