Surf Australia’s longest, safest & most pristine National Park surfing wave. This ideal surfing location, known as Double Island Point, is a day surfing adventure and only able to be accessed when the tide is out by unique beach 4WD transportation.
This guided surf lesson is suitable for beginners through to intermediate surfers and is a fun, family-friendly experience for adults, teens and kids wanting to learn to surf in a safe and uncrowded environment.

• Depart Rainbow Beach in specialised 4X4 vehicles from pick up point.
• Feel the thrill of beach 4×4 & spot many migratory birds, dolphins, whales (Jun-Oct) & turtles.
• Arrive at a world class National Park surfing paradise – Double Island Point.
• Location is known on its best days to offer Australia’s longest waves.
• Equipment set up and safety/instruction briefing on the beach.
• 2-2.5 hours of surf time!
• Return trip along the famous Coloured Sand cliffs back to Rainbow Beach.
Please bring what you would usually bring to the beach e.g: towel, sunscreen, water, camera, change of clothes, snacks.
Departure times vary daily as a result of tide times to access Double Island Point along the Great Beach Drive. You can initiate an online booking to check the departure times. Please allow 3-4 hours from pick up to drop off.
This tour departs Rainbow Beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and is located 1.5 hours north of Brisbane.

Yes – our surf tours are perfect for intermediate surfers. If you book the addon for a guided lesson, you might be mixed with beginners, but our groups are nice and small, so you’ll get plenty of attention at your own surfing level.
Is this surf lesson kid-friendly?
Absolutely! Our surf lessons are very family-friendly and are a great way for kids to experience the ocean in a safe and supportive environment. Double Island Point is the perfect place to learn for young kids, because the wave is very beginner friendly.
For children under 8 years of age joining a group lesson, we require a parent or guardian to assist in the water with the kids as well. This helps ensure younger children receive the extra attention they may need, as the instructor will also be supervising other participants in the group.
Our instructors are experienced in teaching children and will always adapt the lesson to suit the age, confidence, and ability of the group. If you have younger children or would like advice on the best lesson option for your family, please get in touch and we’d be happy to help.
