All individuals taking part in aquatic tours offered by Rainbow Beach Tours must complete and sign a Participant Waiver Form on the day of their tour. Participants under the age of 18 must provide written consent from a parent or guardian.
Pricing
All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and inclusive of GST. All reservations are subject to availability and are made on a request basis.
Tour Schedule Exceptions
Tours run every day of the year except Christmas Day (25 December).
A minimum of four guests is required for each tour to proceed. In the rare event that this minimum is not met, Rainbow Beach Tours reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the experience.
Departure Times & Pick-Up Information
Daily departure times vary according to low tide, to ensure access through the National Park and along Double Island Point’s shoreline. Daily times can be found by selecting your tour date in our booking calendar.
Children and Age Policy
Children aged 6 and over are welcome but must be accompanied by a paying adult. Standard adult rates apply to all participants. Children under 6 may be accepted under ideal weather conditions—please contact us in advance. Child safety seats are required.
Health, Liability & Safety Requirements
Guests must disclose any medical or health conditions prior to departure and on the Participant Waiver Form. Participation in any activity is not permitted if a condition may increase the risk of injury unless explicitly approved by Rainbow Beach Tours.
All participants must be able to swim confidently. For kayaking tours, a weight limit of 100kg applies.
Rainbow Beach Tours accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings brought on tours. We advise against bringing valuables like cameras, smartphones, or designer sunglasses. Should you bring such items, it is at your own risk and they should be waterproof and buoyant.
Payment Policy
Bookings can be made via phone, email, our website, or through authorised travel agents. A deposit of 20% per person is required at time of booking. Full payment is due no later than 7 days before departure. Failure to pay in full by this deadline may result in loss of booking and deposit. Bookings made through third-party providers may carry separate payment policies.
Amendments by Guests
Booking changes are allowed based on availability. If an alternative date isn’t suitable and you’re unable to travel on your original booking, standard cancellation fees will apply.
Changes made within 48 hours of departure will incur full cancellation charges. Any newly booked tour will require full payment.
Tour Adjustments by Rainbow Beach Tours
Tour schedules may change due to weather, tidal conditions, government regulations, or safety reasons. Any such decisions are made in the best interest of guest safety and comfort. Please keep your tour day free of other obligations in case timing must be adjusted at short notice.
If departure times change, we will contact you by phone or email. It is your responsibility to provide accurate contact details. Failure to receive updates due to incorrect information will be treated as a “no show” and no refund will be issued.
Guest Cancellations
Due to the extensive planning and costs associated with touring, the following cancellation fees will apply in the event you should cancel for any reason.
- Outside 7 Days from Departure Date – Full refund
- Within 7 Days – 48 hours from Departure Date – 20% cancellation fee applies, or you can receive a travel credit.
- Within 48 hours before Departure Date – 100% Cancellation Fee.
Failure to show up on time is non-refundable.
We offer the possibility to process a 100% travel credit for future tours with Epic Ocean Adventures instead of cancelling – you have 36 months to use this credit. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the tour’s departure cannot be rescheduled and are forfeited.
Insurance Advice
We recommend taking out travel insurance to cover cancellations, medical emergencies, and lost property. If illness occurs during your trip, all associated expenses are your responsibility, and no refund will be given.
Cancellations by Rainbow Beach Tours
On occasion, tours may be cancelled at short notice due to environmental or safety concerns. If this occurs before departure, we will try to reschedule you to a suitable day. If that’s not possible, you may opt for either a full refund or a lifetime credit toward a future tour.
Tours cancelled on-site due to sudden adverse conditions (e.g., at Double Island Point) are not eligible for refund, but we will provide a lifetime tour credit.
Wildlife Encounters
While we frequently observe marine wildlife—including dolphins—within the Great Sandy National Park, sightings cannot be guaranteed. Our success rate is approximately 90%.
During whale migration season, kayaking tours often encounter passing whales, though this is not guaranteed and Rainbow Beach Tours does not run commercial whale-watching tours.
Sea Kayaking Requirements
All kayaking participants must be able to swim and weigh under 110kg. Anyone not meeting these requirements—such as young children—must obtain prior approval.
Beach equipment & Surfboard Hire
We take great care in maintaining high-quality equipment for all guests. We ask that all participants treat equipment with care. Any damage beyond normal wear and tear may incur repair or replacement costs.
Surf Lesson Guarantee
We guarantee you’ll stand up on your first surf lesson—or your next one is free! This is valid provided you participate fully for the entire session and follow all instructions and safety guidelines. Failure to comply will void the guarantee.
Indemnity Statement
Rainbow Beach Tours, including its staff, management, and directors, is not liable for any injury, death, or property loss resulting from personal negligence.
While we strive to operate daily, the safety of our guests is our highest priority. Tours may occasionally be rescheduled or adjusted due to environmental factors. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility.
